The views are uninterrupted as the field drops away out in front of the site, it catches the sun right through to the evening until dusk when the far shore of the Carrick Roads takes on an orange glow. Truro
Why not come to meet us at the Wild Tipi HQ? Nestled on the edge of Alder Wood I Ladock, Truro, our team is on hand to help with all your thoughts, worries and questions. We thrive on making every aspect of your event just perfect and can be as involved as you wish or need. We can also arrange for a site visit to see our tipis up and in action, just message us to let us know how we can help.
The true beauty of a Wild Tipi event is that the possibilities for how your day is realised are endless; our Tipis come in different sizes and can be configured in numerous ways to help to create the perfect look and feel for your day; with every detail imagined made real. Our team here at Wild Tipi is dedicated to bringing your wishes, dreams and aspirations to life; the floorplans below are simply a guide to how your event could look. We hope they inspire you and help you to visualise your day better. Should you have any further questions or queries, please get in touch with us. Together we can dream wild...
Try to have a plan B when choosing a venue, or we can help choose if you prefer.
Look to see how exposed the location is, this is critical depending on what time of the year your event is. See below for weather restrictions.
Try to ensure the ground is reasonably level with good surface water drainage, check it doesn’t get boggy when it rains.
We can pitch the tipi’s on grass, chippings and Tarmac (which may require drilling). We can also pitch our tipi’s on concrete, although an additional charge for an anchorage system will be required.
Good access for delivery vehicles is essential, our vehicles are typically 4×4, others may not be.
The footprint of each tipi is 10.3m diameter with the sides down and 13m with them up. Depending on the number of tipis you require and the orientation will determine the area required. We can discuss this and access into the tipi’s during a site visit.
We would ideally like to carry out a site visit as soon as possible to ensure the site is suitable, and meet with you to discuss any concerns or queries you may have.
We will try to draw power from a nearby source, or we can supply a generator if required (the cost will be dependent on size). If you wish to supply your own generator we will advise you of any power requirements our equipment will have.
High winds are the main concern when erecting the tipi’s. If high winds are forecast on the day we plan to pitch, we’ll discuss with you an alternative day. This is where plan B comes into play, if your site is exposed, or not well drained. A more sheltered plan B is a good opportunity to ensure your event continues on time in adverse weather.
The wind will also dictate which sides of the tipi can be opened. Discussions with the onsite team who carry out risk assessments will provide a suitable solution for the site weather conditions. We can arrange for solid timber doors which can be useful for winter events.
Your guests will be very comfortable in the colder winter months as there are options for open fires and space heaters. These can also be useful in the cooler summer evenings if everyone is not jumping around.
Your caterer may need a catering tent and a power supply. We can help organise or recommend a suitable supplier.
You may need to supply toilet facilities. We can help organise or recommend a suitable supplier.
We can supply tables, benches, chairs, dance floors and a bar. We work closely with some great wedding stylists and event planners who are best placed to advise further on their area of expertise.
The flooring we typically supply is a coconut coir matting, which is an industry standard and heel proof. On sites that are damp underfoot, or there is a possibility of rain we lay a damp proof membrane underneath to stop any moisture coming through.
We also offer 5m bell tents for the luxury glamping experience as onsite accommodation.
We will over a period of time have discussed your requirements, and aspirations which will lead to a formal quotation. If the quotation is acceptable and you are happy to proceed we will send you a booking form and a 25% deposit invoice. After receiving the signed booking form and deposit payment we will reserve the tipi’s for your event. If something occurs between this date and 28 days prior to your event that results in the event being cancelled we will refund your deposit (less reasonable re-booking charges not exceeding 20%) if another booking can be secured.
The remaining balance is due 1 month prior to the event date. Similarly to above if something occurs that results in the event being cancelled we will refund your monies (less reasonable rebooking charges not exceeding 20%) if another booking can be secured.
Further details can be seen on our Terms and Conditions page.
We can make changes to your booking as long as they are agreed prior to the final payment 28 days prior to the event. That said we will be as flexible as possible.
You will need to provide event insurance from a reputable insurer to cover loss or accidental damage to our equipment, cancellation, breakages and injury to guests/third parties. If you have chosen to purchase our Damage Waiver, which covers loss and accidental damage to our tipis and equipment during your event, you will still need to insure for third party protection and cancellation. Please read the details on the Damage Waiver page
We would love to hear more about your dream day!
Taking those first steps can be a little daunting but we are here to help. Tell us your wish list and we will do our best to make them a reality and if you're not sure yet don’t worry, we can be here every step of the way!

Wild Tipi provided their amazing tipis for our wedding reception last June. We had an incredible day, being blessed by fabulous weather, and all our guests were really impressed by the tipis themselves. If you haven’t seen them in real life, they are truly huge and beautiful inside. It wasn’t an easy one, what with our chosen location in our donkey field, dubious weather in the run-up few days and dismantling in the pouring rain afterwards, but they uncomplainingly coped with everything. Tim even made a site visit in the middle of the night one night to check the tipis were coping with the winds! So fabulous service all round and great coordination by the charming Sam. We would definitely recommend them to anyone planning a unique outdoor wedding!

I don’t know how to thank Sam and Tim enough for everything they did to make our wedding day so incredible. From the moment I first spoke to Sam on the phone, I knew Wild Tipi was a special company. The company has a wonderful ethos focused on immersion in nature and making the most of your environment. Sam immediately understood what we were looking for and was excited to help us bring our vision to life. Her enthusiasm and overwhelming kindness throughout the entire process were truly remarkable and made planning our wedding an amazing experience. Sam was always available to chat - at the end of the phone, over email, or in person - and nothing was too much trouble. She was so generous in giving up her time across many months to help us create the perfect space for our reception venue. The tipis themselves were truly magical, dressed in fairy lights and foliage. Sam and Tim created my dream wedding space, and I am so grateful to them. They are wonderful people and I wish them every success.

There is nothing more romantic than marrying on the water, so why not set sail with the sea breeze for company, our beautiful wooden vessel to witness your vows, and a fully trained crew for up to 60 guests. Apres-ceremony why not moor up and enjoy some photos and newlywed time at a picturesque private cove.
For those that prefer to announce their love on dry land, you could consider a post-ceremony cruise, exploring the idyllic Cornish riverside and all of the pretty creeks and wildlife from your own private boat before returning to your reception.
